The Newspapers Industry - a dying business
Many speculate on the fact that paper newspaper is a dying business, and that in a few decades online newspaper will dominate. In this blog post I will focus on the pros and cons of the newspaper industry.
The paper newspaper usually target elder people, who do not know how to use the Internet and the different websites, also paper newspaper are impractical. It is so much easier to go straight into your phone and check an app, than caring around old newspapers. One of the biggest arguments against the newspaper is the wasteful overload. People are becoming more and more aware of the environment and the consequences of their actions. The last argument against newspapers are the cost, it costs money to buy it. Why buy a newspaper when you can read it for free online. Now with all of these arguments against newspaper, how can the newspaper industry still be in business?
Many people like having a physical newspaper in their hands, it is a habit which is hard to break. Also if the physical newspaper goes out of business many journalists will lose their job, and the are not that expensive to buy. Even though newspaper are not so environmental, there are newspaper that can be recycled. Another important thing to mention is that staring too long on your newspaper will not damage your eyes, like a computer might.
To sum up their are both pros and cons against online and ordinary newspapers. I honestly think that the good old paper newspaper is going to be with us for a while, but in a few decades it will disappear. However I also think that the small newspapers will not manage to outperform the big newspaper industries. I am referring to big newspaper industries like BBC, the New York Times, Daily News etc.
